JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sanitary Supply Corp is a leader and innovator of Building Maintenance Supply Products. We are looking for an ambitious Purchasing Manager to lead our team at our main location in Grand Junction, Colorado. PLEASE NOTE that we will not be accepting resumes from applicants outside of Mesa County, Colorado - If you are moving to the area, please let us know.

GENERAL:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the full spectrum of purchasing processes including supplier selection and management, price negotiation, purchase order execution, timely delivery, stock optimization and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with current and new suppliers and manufacturers
  • Work with our Accounting Department for expense management
  • Work with our Fulfillment Department for customer deliveries and logistics
  • Work with our Sales Department for anticipating sales and growth.
  • Manage inventory including par levels, cycle counting, first-in first out, contingency planning, auditing, and forecasting.
  • Calculate price margins for products including manufacturers MSRP.
  • Negotiate pricing and availability with freight companies and manufacturers
  • Create and maintain product descriptions, images and information at Fishbowl (our inventory management program) and our website
  • Track and communicate shipping and delivery from our manufacturers to all team members
  • Manage reporting and submitting rebates to manufacturers
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly meetings with team members to provide direction and updates
  • Oversee scheduling, establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, resolve problems, and report results
  • Reporting directly to Operations and General Manager.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous working experience in Purchasing Management for 5 years or more.
  • Excellent computer skills and especially strong spreadsheet knowledge
  • Superb communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases and systems with ability to work in CRM programs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with modern warehousing practices and methods.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to be innovative in new resources in technology and product lines.
  • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
  • Monday - Friday Workday however our manufactures are in different time zones and countries so you will need to be flexible to communicate effectively
  • Ability to multi-task required
  • Ability to work individually and as part of the team
